"You boys, be careful up there!!"

We get it. It is scary letting someone you love take risks...especially risks that might, just might, result in injury.  We are all starting to hear about risk being an important part of becoming a resilient, empowered, thoughtful adult. But, what if.....?

Tim Gill, the fellow behind Rethinking Childhood, has written one of the most convincing articles supporting parents in doing what they know (or may not know) is the right thing: letting their children take risks.

Run, don't walk, over to read his article Risk, Fear and Freedom: A Plea to Parents, commissioned by our dear friends at Play Wales. It is very, very helpful for anyone intent on caring and nurturing children.

Ethan's grandmother gave him a gift of $25. He gave $20 to ATOP so more Atlanta kids will have great places to play. He kept $5 to get something cool for himself. We think Ethan is pretty cool!
