PlayablelO International Design Competition
has been an intriguing and exhausting experience, but I think I can say it has been a success. The idea was to get designers around the world who do not normally think about designing for play to do so. We will end up with a unique playspace for Woodruff Park, a few do-it-yourself manuals for building your own playspace, and a conceptual design to encourage the real designers of the 22+ mile Atlanta BeltLine to incorporate play into their master plan.
The winners will be announced this weekend, but here are a few of the semifinalists in different categories:
We will have an online exhibit after the competition is over so that everyone can enjoy the entries.
