If You Remember Something from Your Childhood....

(Google office in Zurich - designed by the playful and brilliant architects at CamenzindEvolution)

I remember going to buy shoes in Baltimore at age 3. I entered the store via a SLIDE!!

I remember building a ghost house for my neighborhood at age 9 or so. You entered via a slide.

I remember feeling triumphant and exhilarated (at 55) going head-first down the curly-cue slide at the Ron Clark Academy and shooting halfway across the lobby on my stomach in my black suit (they must mop a lot...I was not dirtied).

I remember asking campers to design a treehouse and they all added slides as exits.

I remember making a video for KaBOOM! about playing in Atlanta. We were filming the City Parks Department maintenance team and they were all miserable and stiff....until I had them go down the slide. It changed the whole dynamic like magic.

Guess there's a reason why the 3 S's (slides*swings*sand) are so important in kids' lives. They're so fun they're memorable forever!

Ethan E., our first donor

Ethan's grandmother gave him a gift of $25. He gave $20 to ATOP so more Atlanta kids will have great places to play. He kept $5 to get something cool for himself. We think Ethan is pretty cool!
