Making Atlanta a Great Place to Play

The 2nd annual Great Atlanta Play Day is coming soon!

We had a great time last year, and this year is going to be even better.

The whole idea is to get outside and play all day. Plan a day of play in your park, neighborhood, NPU, playground...wherever you want to play! There are a lot of ideas of fun things to do at the bottom of this website. Play as a family or play as a community. You can even do a little sprucing up of your local parks and then play.

Play organized sports in the park or games in your front yard.

One neighborhood had a cook out and roasted marshmallows at the end of a long day of play.

Show an outdoor movie. Kids have never heard of drive-in theaters. They can't believe you can watch a movie outside!

Do your part: get your family outside on Saturday, September 26, 2009 and play all day. Even better, organize a play day for your neighborhood or park or organization and let us know about it. We're working on getting some great stuff to help you make your day a big success. Sign up with our friends at KaBOOM! They've got a lot of ideas of how to plan the day.

Ethan's grandmother gave him a gift of $25. He gave $20 to ATOP so more Atlanta kids will have great places to play. He kept $5 to get something cool for himself. We think Ethan is pretty cool!
